What a pro does

Power comes before parts, every time. A thrown breaker, a blown fuse, or an emergency switch someone brushed past in a dark stairway kills a system so completely that it's indistinguishable from a real mechanical failure until it's checked. With power confirmed, attention moves to thermostat wiring, the ignition sequence, and whichever safety device latched the equipment off, because most outages are a control doing its job rather than a control that broke. Snow drifted against a sidewall vent belongs on that list too. Ordering parts before any of that is spending money on a guess.
